Christmas Decorations on a limited budged

So much time is spent with Christmas shopping and gift buying, that we often lose sight of decorating our home for the holidays. Sometimes we tend to feel a bit selfish spending all that money on lavish Christmas decorations, and want to cut back this year. A tight budge doesn't mean you have to sacrifice Christmas decorations. Here are a few ideas that are budget friendly, and will have your home looking festive in no time.

Ribbon is one of the most economical solutions to Christmas decorations on the market. No matter what style you choose whether it be country, retro, modern or traditional, there's ribbon that will reflect your mood. You can find ribbon at discount retail stores, craft shops, even drug stores. Look around for  discounts and sales that can save you a lot of money. The possibilities are endless with ribbon. You can wrap ribbon around the banister on stairs, and have a decorative bow at the end. Try giving your throw pillows a Christmas flair by wrapping ribbon around them to look like Christmas presents. Decorate all the wreaths in your home, especially on your front door with ribbon. Make several little bows, or one big bow, whatever you prefer.

Using gift wrap is another wonderful idea for Christmas decorations. Try wrapping empty boxes, and strategically placing them in your hallway, table, or make a tall stack in the corner of a room. This adds a lot of Christmas drama to any room. This is a great way to use that odd little piece that's left over on a roll of wrapping paper. You can also use that stray piece as a picture by placing it in a frame. Make a  collection of different sized frames, and scatter them throughout your home.

Ever wonder what you can do with your collection of Christmas cards every year? Use them as Christmas decorations by putting them on display on a bulletin board. If you have glass tables, put your Christmas cards under the glass for a beautiful table display. Another great idea is to attach all of your Christmas cards to a piece of ribbon to create a custom swag that you can hang over your mantle or around your Christmas tree.

Use candy as Christmas decorations. Not only is candy good to eat, but it's fun to look at also. Fill a small bowl with a variety of different colored candies. This is a really simple way to add a bit of extra Christmas cheer to any room. Candy canes with their hook shapes can be used in a variety of ways. Hang them from your Christmas tree, wreaths, lamps, even on door knobs. This is a quick and easy idea for decorating on a budget. If you are the crafty type, get foam topiaries and turn them into expensive looking displays by gluing gumdrops or peppermints on them. Gumdrop or peppermint trees are a wonderful addition to any shelf or mantle display. You can also create a candy wreath by using a small Styrofoam wreath, then gluing different colored hard Christmas candies.
