Religious Tree Toppers Accent Tradition

Traditionally, the common decoration at the top of the Christmas tree was a star or an angel. These were usually home made and more symbolic than representational. Each of these is a religious tree topper because they are both present in the traditional nativity scene. The star is the Star of Bethlehem, that led the three kings to Jesus, and the angel came from heaven to bring the good news to the shepherds that the Messiah will be born. There are as many different interpretations of the angel and star as there are artists who design them, but they all have the same meaning.

Tree toppers can be very ornate and expensive and because of that are handed down for generations as the traditional family Christmas ornament that lasts when others break or come and go. There is an LED Bethlehem Star religious tree topper that shines with its own pink, yellow and blue light. Another star possibility is an eight inch red fabric star on a metal frame. It has silver bells and a big bow and really stands out on a green or white tree.

One religious tree topper has a whole Christmas scene including Jesus, Mary and Joseph or it may have the whole nativity scene with animals, kings and angels. They come surrounded by a golden filigree star and can be seen more easily on a smaller tree where they can be at eye level. They could not be seen on a large tree, where they would be somewhere near the ceiling, however, there are LED angels with dark red robes and white wings trimmed in gold ribbon that light up and look beautiful from a little distance.

Another lighted religious tree topper is an ivory and green fiber optic angel. This also comes with three angels and looks magical on your tree. Stars of every color and material are also lighted and make a beautiful show. There are many different styles of angels from cute cartoon angels to very intricately designed angels with silk gowns and feather wings. Angels are also available with glowing dark skin and flowing black hair as well as copies made from early Christian paintings. There is one angel that is porcelain holding up a star. This combines both nativity symbols.

There is a beautiful white cross religious tree topper that says “God Bless Baby’s First Christmas” as well as a gold Capiz shell cross tree topper. For those who want to invite Jesus to their Christmas there is a Jesus tree topper. It is made of resin with a silk-like gown. There are nail imprints in the hands. It is one foot tall and also lights up. This decoration can be used at other times of the year, especially Easter. For a Christmas tree with a religious theme the best tree topper is a star or an angel. Images of the nativity and Jesus are nice but need the right setting. A glorious, brightly lit star or angel symbolizes the coming of Jesus like nothing else.
